A Hidden Haven in the Heart of the Daintree
When the Lamond family purchased the land in the late 1980s, it was once part of a working cattle property. Over the years, they transformed it into a thriving rainforest haven, planting more than 20 different fruit tree species and nurturing every tree that now shades the land.
A crystal-clear creek runs year-round through the property, dividing it in two. Guests are welcome to enjoy a picnic by the water or cool off with a refreshing dip on a warm tropical day in the private swimming hole.
Visitors are encouraged to take their time. Wander the grounds, listen to the creek, and observe the wildlife that makes its home here. From the Ulysses butterflies to the call of rainforest birds, every corner of the property is alive with the sounds and colours of the Daintree.
The museum isn’t just a window into the world of insects, it’s part of the ecosystem itself.
